Chest 1-2

A series of bamboo storage boxes with removable lids in colored compact laminate called Chest 1-2. The boxes can be used individually or stacked and used as both a storage solution and a small side table or bedside table. These functional storage boxes are designed for optimal use of space, in particular for people living in apartments or houses with limited access to extra storage.

Chest 1-2 are produced in the ultra slim 10mm bamboo plywood. The material is very hard, similar to hardwoods such as walnut or oak. The amber color in the bamboo is a result of the carbonization process, which involves pressure heating of the sugar in the bamboo. With this alternative process, painting, staining or other chemical processes can be completely bypassed, which results in a more sustainable product and a better indoor climate due to zero emission of formaldehydes and other harmful gasses. Additionally, Fivesquare is a part of the “WE DO WOOD – MADE IN DENMARK” collection.

Delivered in a flat package, final assembly done at home. Watch assembly instruction video for tips and tricks. Cleaning of bamboo is done by a damped cloth applied a little soap.
